About William Howard Doane Library

Denison University's Doane Library offers students study spaces, computer labs, a large collection of books, periodicals, and the Denison Archives. It was built in 1937 by William Gehron, who was appointed the college architect in the same year. The library's design is drawn from Georgian style though facade mimics that of the south front of the Petit Trianon in the Garden of Versailles. It stands as a memorial to William H. Doane from his daughters who funded its construction. It is open 24/7 during finals week.
